Right to Request Teacher and Paraprofessional Credentials
In compliance with the requirements of the Every Student Succeeds Act, R.L. Norris Elementary School would like to inform you that you may request information about the professional qualifications of your student's teacher(s) and/or paraprofessional (s). The following information may be requested:
* Whether the student's teacher-
-has met State qualification and licensing criteria for the grade levels and subject areas in which the teacher provides instruction;
-is teaching under emergency or other provisional status through which State qualification or licensing criteria have been waived; and is teaching in the field of discipline of the certification of the teacher.
*Whether the child is provided services by paraprofessionals and, if so, their qualifications.

Fraud, Waste, Abuse & Corruption Policy
•McDuffie County School system employees shall be encouraged to report verbally or in writing to their supervisor, department head, or other appropriate authority evidence of activity by a district department, agency, or employee constituting:
A violation of local, state, or federal law, rule or regulation;
–Misappropriation of resources;
–Substantial and specific danger to the public health and safety; or
Gross mismanagement, a gross waste of monies, or gross abuse of authority.
Federal Complaints Procedure
Any individual, organization, or agency may file a complaint with the McDuffie County Board of Education (McBOE) if that individual, organization, or agency believes and allegest that the McBOE or an individual school within the McDuffie County School System is violating a federal statute or regulation that applies to a program under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA, also known as the No Child Left Behind Act). The complaint must allege a violation that occurred not more than one (1) year prior to the date the complaint is received, unless a longer period is reasonable because the violation is considered systemic or ongoing. The complaint procedure is located within the McDuffie County School System calendar, distributed to all parents at Open House or upon enrollment, and on the system website at www.mcduffie.k12.ga.us. Forms are available in any school's main office or from the central office.
Under the McKinney-Vento Act, the McDuffie County School System will provide education to students who are homeless. The homeless liaison for McDuffie County Schools is School Social Worker Yolanda Copeland, who can be reached at 706-986-4144 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
