2020-2021 School Year

All stakeholders are cordially invited to the annual input meeting to discuss revisions to the following Title I documents for 2021-2022:

• School-Level Parent and Family Engagement Plan for 2021-2022
• Parent Compact for 2021-2022
• Use of Parent Engagement Funds for 2021-2022
• Suggestions for Training for School Staff to Work with Parents for 2021-2022

E-SPLOST Vote March 16, 2021

Voting on an E-SPLOST referendum is to be held on March 16, 2021, for McDuffie County registered voters. Early voting is available from February 22 – March 5, 2021, at the Thomson Precinct on Main Street and from March 8 – March 12, 2021, at Dearing Community Center and the Thomson Precinct on Main Street.

If you will RSVP with your email on the flyer going home with your student today (A day students) or Wednesday (B day students) and participate on the live meeting, you have a chance to win one of two $20 gift cards that will be drawn at the end of the meeting. As a reminder, we will return to school tomorrow, January 25th, using the blended A/B model. It is imperative that you follow the safety protocols in place regarding Covid-19. Stay home if:
*you are sick
*you show any of the symptoms of Covid-19
*you have been exposed to Covid-19
* you or anyone in your family is waiting for Covid-19 test results

Following these guidelines will minimize exposure to our students, faculty, and staff. If you have any questions or concerns, please call our front office. Thank you!

Please see the attached revised flyer with information about the Mobile Food Distribution that will be held by the McDuffie County School System and Golden Harvest Food Bank on Friday, November 13, 2020 from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM. PLEASE NOTE - the location has been changed to Thomson-McDuffie Middle School. Also, please remember that this is a contactless distribution. Recipients of food will not get out of their car. In addition, their trunk must be empty and must be able to be opened. All boxes of food items will be placed in the recipient's trunk. Food will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis.

R.L. Norris Elementary School cordially invites you to attend our annual EIP Parent Orientation Meeting on October 8, 2020 at 9:00 AM. Please go to zoom.com and at the top left in blue, click “Join a Meeting”. Your meeting ID number is 440 197 4169. Your password is 6W8850.
We will give a brief overview of our EIP program and provide resources for you to use at home.
We need your input and feedback on the following items:
• 2020-2021 Parent and Family Engagement Policy
• 2020-2021 School Compact
• Suggestions for ways to build staff capacity in 2020-2021
• How we will use our 1% set aside in 2020-2021

Students with last names beginning with the letters A-J will have face to face instruction at school on Monday and Tuesday and will be virtual learners on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Students with last names beginning with K-Z will have face to face instruction at school on Wednesday and Thursday and will be virtual learners on Friday, Monday, and Tuesday.

Our school's annual Title I parent meetings will be offered August 25, 2020, at 6:00 p.m. and on August 27, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. using Google Meet. We hope you can join us to learn more about our Title I schoolwide program.

Attached is a photo with the meeting links and telephone numbers for those who wish to attend using a landline.

On Tuesday, August 18, 2020, students who were signed up as Face-to-Face students may pick up their educational resources and any previously requested devices at the times below:
5th grade from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm
4th grade from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm

** Please enter from the back of the school from the car rider area on Holt Street. You will come through the metal gates over into the bus rider area where we will have individuals who will greet you at your car and hand you your child's items. You will then exit to the front of the school out to Harrison Road. We look forward to seeing you from a distance on Tuesday!

On Wednesday, August 12, 2020, students who were signed up as Learn from Home students may pick up their educational resources and any previously requested devices at the times below:
