Vocabulary Test every other week

Typical Reading/ELA Homework:    Spelling HW, Reading Skills HW Practice sheet, Vocabulary Choice Board

  1. Reading Homework is to READ for 30 minutes each night, preferably with an adult and to complete the Reading Skills HW practice sheet each night. The Weekly READING Skills Practice HW sheet will go home on Mondays.  It should be worked on nightly, and we will go over it most days.  It is due to be turned in on Friday.

Current Vocabulary: Greek and Latin Root Words

Please have your child study our vocabulary words nightly in order to be ready for quizzes.   There are Vocabulary Choice Board activities which must be completed and turned in on the day of the Vocabulary test. One activity must be completed each week.

  1. Spelling lists will go home on Mondays.  We sometimes have a pretest on Mondays to see which words your child already knows how to spell. The words he/she misses are the ones that should be focused on during study time. If we are off on any given Monday, we will not have a pretest. Tests are on Fridays. You can find the regular list in the Spelling section of the Language Arts page to the left. Spelling homework also goes home on Mondays. It is due Friday.
