Behavioral Expectations
I have provided a copy of the classroom rules below. Positive behavior will always be rewarded with praise, prizes, recognition, and R.A.M.S BUCKS!!! As part of R.L. Norris Elementary School's PBIS (Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports) initiative, the school has implemented the R.A.M.S Store. The "R.A.M.S Store" is a shopping center in our school that students can every other Friday for students to purchase items using their R.A.M.S BUCKS. Students receive “R.A.M.S BUCKS” for following the school-wide R.A.M.S expectations which are: Respect everyone, Act appropriately, Make safe choices, and Show responsibility.
We have also implemented the House System at our school. Each student is assigned a House color. Students exhibit positive behavior to gain points for their House. The House with the most points will receive prizes and recognition. So, be sure to ask your student their House color and how they are contributing to the House points.
On the other hand, persistent negative behaviors will result in a behavior action plan. When a student receives a behavior action plan, they must explain what they did wrong and also what they cold have done differently. The behavior action plan will be sent home to be signed by the guardian and returned the next day. Three behavior action plans will result in an office referral. Please refer to and sign your child's agenda book daily for behavior reports, notes, handouts, etc .
