Greetings from Mrs. P. Ivey-Hart

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,
Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! I am excited to begin another year of learning and growth with your child. I look forward to building a strong partnership with you as we work together to help your child become a confident, successful reader and reach their full academic potential.
I believe that students achieve the greatest success when families and schools work together. Your encouragement and support at home, combined with meaningful learning experiences at school, can make a lasting difference in your child's academic success. As partners in your child's education, we share the responsibility of helping students grow both academically and personally, and I am committed to providing a positive, supportive learning environment where every child can thrive.
In my classroom, students participate in engaging learning experiences that encourage active participation, critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving. Instruction includes a variety of hands-on activities, small-group and whole-group learning, technology integration, and opportunities for students to work independently while strengthening their reading and literacy skills.
Fourth and fifth grades are important years as students prepare for the increased academic expectations of middle school. The reading skills students develop this year will support success across all subject areas. I encourage every student to come to school ready to learn, remain focused during instruction, and give their best effort each day. With consistent support from both home and school, our students can achieve great success.
Please encourage your child to come to school each day prepared and ready to learn. Regular attendance, a positive attitude, and daily reading at home are all important factors in academic growth. I will communicate with you throughout the school year regarding your child's progress and ways you can continue supporting learning at home.
I am truly excited about the opportunity to work with your child and celebrate their accomplishments throughout the year. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me by calling the school or emailing me. If you have not already done so, please send me your preferred phone number and email address so we can maintain open communication throughout the school year.
Thank you for your support and partnership. Together, we can make this a successful, rewarding, and memorable school year for your child!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Pamesha Ivey-Hart, Ed.S
