WELCOME

Welcome to my website and R.L. Norris Elementary School!

Welcome to 4th Grade!  This year will present new and exciting challenges of growth and maturity for your child. I will be here to support you and your child every step of the way.  Students will be given great responsibility and expectations will be high.  There are incentives in place to encourage wise decision making; there are also consequences for making poor choices.

Academic standards are rigorous and written to help prepare your child for the coming years, and eventually college, career, and life.  I know that monitoring your child’s progress is important to you.  It will also aid in the academic success of your student.

You have the opportunity to monitor your child’s academic progress by enrolling in PowerSchool and making sure your child is familiar with his/her school email in order to log on Google Classroom for assignments and/or activities. Your user name and password are available at the front office when you present your ID to access PowerSchool. Your child’s homeroom teacher will also provide your child with his/her school email as well.  Also, you have the opportunity to get important information from my web page and reminders on your Iphones or Androids devices by signing up for REMIND.  You can sign up for REMIND by going to www.remind.com or you can download the REMIND app.  If you choose to sign up for REMIND the code to join for my class is: (@gcg6ke).  These are wonderful tools to keep you informed.

Please make sure that your child has all necessary supplies so that instructional time can be used efficiently.  Students are all given a school handbook/agenda that includes discipline code, important phone numbers and dress code.  Please take time to go over each of these items with your student within the first few days of school.  Your child must bring their handbook/agendas to school daily.

I am so excited about this school year and the opportunity to get to know your child and watch him/her grow.  Together we will have a wonderful, successful fourth grade year!

Excitedly,

Mrs. Hamilton
