A Little Bit About Me

Thank you for visiting my web page.  I would like to share a few things about me, so that you know we are more alike than different.  This is my 12th year of teaching.  I decided to go to college in my late 40's, it was my lifelong dream to become a teacher. At 52, I graduated from Augusta State University with honors.  My GPA was 3.97.  I was extremely proud of myself!
My first interview was with Norris Elementary--I knew it was exactly where I was meant to be.

I live in Harlem. I raise my  3 granddaughters that are 15, 15, and 17.  My 5 year old grandson also lives with me. We love to do activities outside, like fishing, swimming, and boating.
In my 11 years of teaching, I have taught every subject, but prefer Math.  In fact, I have taught at least one math class every year. This year I am co-teaching with Mr. Brandon Turman. We get along great and have the same goals and visions for our students. We push hard, demand respect in the classroom, but genuinely care about each and every student in our class.

Please feel free to call me during my planning, 12:40-1:20, if you have any concerns or questions.

Sign on to CLEVER

Students have been assigned a Clever log-in for most applications, including Renaissance Learning, Lexia Core 5, iReady, USATestPrep, and Rosetta Stone. The Clever log-in allows students to use a single username and password to access all of these programs.  To sign in, go to https://clever.com/ and click “Log in as a Student.”  Type in the name of your school and then choose “Log in with Clever.”  Use your 6-digit school ID number (printed on your schedule) for your username and password.

Happy First Day of School!! 8/17/2020

DO NOT  panic!  Today and tomorrow we will be contacting every parent to make sure all students have the device and wifi they need to get started.  If you already have both, go ahead and sign in to your child's school email.  There you will find more information about what to expect this week. If you have ANY questions  or concerns, please email either Mr. Turman, or myself.  We are excited to get started!!
