What is Accelerated Reader?
The Accelerated Reader program is a software package produced by Renaissance Learning.
Within this program each AR book is evaluated and given a reading level and point value.
Students choose books within their assigned reading zone
and take a computerized quiz on their book’s content.
They then receive points based on how many questions they answer correctly.
The quiz is designed to assess reading comprehension.
Here at Norris Elementary we have an incentive program that awards students
based upon the number of points they accumulate during the year.
In order to earn points for awards, they must score an 85% or higher on each test.
